A Walk through Time and Space in Preparation for Tisha B’av
with Rabbi Alan Haber
Friday morning, 5 Av / August 1 (Erev Shabbat Chazon)
9:00 – 13:00
Walk through some lesser-known areas in and around Jerusalem’s Old City, while gaining a deeper understanding of our holy city’s past and the various sins that caused its destruction. By doing so, we will be able to better recognize contemporary manifestations of those sins so that we can work together as a nation to correct them.
Our route will take us down into the valleys of Gei Ben Hinom and Nachal Kidron, and from there we will ascend to the Upper City and visit the underground Herodian Quarter excavations. Explanations will be accompanied by short readings from our sources.
The walk begins at the “Tachana Rishona / First Station” on David Remez St. and will end in the Jewish Quarter
Cost: 80 shekels or $25
Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat; bring water and sunscreen
